Why not make it memorable with a romantic night filled with your own personal touches? If you’re not sure where to start, we have some suggestions for you!

DIY DATE NIGHT IDEAS
LOCATION:
You don’t want your date night to feel just like any other night at home, so start by picking a location other than your dining room table or wherever you usually eat your meals. If you have a fireplace or other cozy spot, create a picnic area with blankets and pillows. The key is to pick a spot where you can create ambiance and make it feel different than a regular night at home.
MOOD:
Speaking of ambiance, it’s important to set the mood for the evening. Try dimming the lights, lighting candles, scattering flower petals, and turning on some romantic music. You can create a personalized playlist that features songs that have special meanings to both of you. For example, the song that was playing on your first date, the song you first danced to, your wedding song, or the song that was playing when you first kissed.
FOOD:
The point of a date night is to spend time together, so you might not want to spend too much time preparing a big meal. We think fondue is the perfect solution. We suggest using cheese and chocolate fondue, so you can have dinner and dessert. You can cut up raw vegetables and your favorite kind of bread to dip in the cheese. Use fruit, like strawberries, bananas, and apples, to dip in the chocolate. You can also use marshmallows, pretzels, Oreos, vanilla wafers, or any other sweet treats you like. Check out these fondue recipes.
GIFTS:
Of course, we think flowers are perfect for this occasion. But, if you want to give another gift, we suggest a love letter. We tell people we love them, but it’s nice to hear why you are loved. Take some time to either put your feelings on paper or record a love letter video. This doesn’t have to be fancy. You could start by saying, “These are the reasons I love you” and include a list of reasons. Tell a story, make it funny, write a poem. Whatever you do, make it unique to you and your relationship.
The most important thing to remember is the night is about you two. Spend the time enjoying each other’s company and celebrating your relationship!
