Every May, people around the nation celebrate Mother's Day, but do you know the origins of this special occasion? It all started back in 1905, when Anna Jarvis began publicly campaigning to make "Mother's Day" a recognized holiday in the United States. Jarvis' efforts were inspired by her late mother, Ann Jarvis, a peace activist who cared for wounded soldiers on both sides of the Civil War and had created Mother’s Day Work Clubs in order to address public health issues. Following her mom's death that same year, the younger Jarvis wanted to honor her mother by continuing her work and created a day to celebrate moms everywhere!
At Floral Design by Heidi, we love this story and think moms should be honored all year long. That’s why we’ve created our monthly subscription program called The Uplifting Florals Club. Becoming a part of the Uplifting Florals Club means you get fresh, seasonal flowers and arrangements delivered to mom (or anyone else on your favorite-person list) each and every month!
The Uplifting Florals Club service was created to be easy and convenient. Simply choose from our small, medium, or large arrangements and we'll hand select the most perfect in-season blossoms for delivery on your selected date each month. The plan auto-renews monthly and may be cancelled after three months … or you can keep the deliveries coming for as long as you’d like. Even better, you can add a recurring card message so that each delivery comes with a special note of love and appreciation. It’s the ultimate Mother’s Day gift that keeps on giving!

Celebrating Earth Day with Flowers
Over 92 countries around the world will be celebrating Earth Day on Thursday, April 22 to commemorate the importance of protecting our natural environment. It’s no secret that greenery has a positive effect on air quality and climate. Flowers and plants help to reduce dust and smoke from the air to improve air quality. Bees and other pollinators, such as butterflies and hummingbirds, provide a fundamental pollination process for the survival of our ecosystems. Nearly 90% of the world’s wild flowering plants depend on pollination, so don’t forget to thank the bees! Commemorating Earth Day by gifting beautiful flowers like one of our Best Sellers to family and friends will help honor the essential health and beauty of nature.
Floral Design by Heidi is committed to helping protect the environment by doing our part each and every day by recycling our vases and cardboard. Let’s work together to use the power of flowers and plants to help keep our planet beautiful and thriving for generations to come.
